Abstract
To have an understanding of the impact of each of the various general characteristics on the hematological findings, 833 organic solvent industrial male workers were investigated. All participants took part in a health check-up at a hospital between February 1 to March 31. The results were as follows: the higher the age and longer the duration of employment of the organic solvent male worker, the more the mean values decrease in hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct), erythrocytes (RBC) and platelets counts. The more the body mass index (BMI) increases, the more the mean values increase in Hb, Hct, RBC count, but decrease in platelet count. The mean values of complete blood cell count in workers who have a disease were lower than healthy workers for Hb, Hct, and RBC count. The mean values of Hb, Hct and leukocytes (WBC) count in smoking workers increase significantly more than nonsmoking workers. The higher the age increase, the more the mean values of leukocytes decrease, but the more the BMI increases, the more the mean values of leukocytes increase significantly.
